And In Other News.....

So the party sort of overshadowed what would have otherwise still been a great weekend. On Friday night Daddy's cousin Jenna and her husband Jamie brought their little girl Livvy over to play while they went to watch Jacob and the Trojans stomp Routt. GO TROJANS! Livvy and I had so much fun playing babies and kitchen. I hope she gets to come back again sometime soon. Isn't she a cutie?!

On Sunday Mom took me to the Prairieland Steamshow. In case you don't know, it is a big festival that highlights old time farm machinery and practices. There is also a flea market and there are a lot of folk crafts on display. I rode in the tractor parade with Papa and waved at everybody. Great Papa and Papa Charlie both had antique tractors there too.

Daddy spent yesterday cutting beans in the field across the road from our house, so when Mom and I got back I tagged along for my first combine ride of the season. After all of this, you can see why I was still tired tonight!

A Royal Affair

In case you haven't heard, last night I had the best Princess party ever! Grandma and Grandpa Shireman let me have it at their pool. Also there were Grandma and Grandpa Robinson, Great Grandma Pahlmann, Great grandma and Grandpa Robinson, Aunt Nancy, Aunt Roxanne, Kira, Geordan, Aunt Amy, Tucker, Jaycie, Mom, and Dad.

We started with some swimming, then we ate. After that we tried to have a water balloon toss game, but Jaycie and I were a little confused about the rules, so we ended up just throwing all of the balloons at each other (way more fun by the way). We also played a game where we had to put Cinderella in her window on the castle (think pin the tail on the donkey), and I won, kinda (I cheated and peeked at where I was going).

After more swimming it really got fun when I put on my Cinderella dress. Jaycie dressed up like Princess Jasmine. The spirit stick went to Snow White who really got into the festivities....recognize her? I was very surprised when she joined the party. I blew out my candles next, and then everyone ate cake. Mom finally let me open my presents, which are too numerous to list. I loved all of them of course.

We wrapped up the night with a moonlit swim. Grandma's pool has a light that changes colors, and it really made the pool look magical! The gazebo looked a little like a castle too. All of my royal subjects were wonderful party guests, and really made me feel like a princess, if only for a night!

-Ate pizza for supper

-Ate another cupcake (actually just licked all the icing off and left the cake)

-Grandma Pam stopped by with some great surprises like a princess piano and lots of other princess goodies

-Opened presents from Dad and Mom my favorite of which were a deep sea diving Barbie and a Little Mermaid raft for the pool

-Took a bath with my new Abby Cadabby (from Sesame Street) bath toy

-Went to bed where Mom read me a Rageddy Ann story

-Fell asleep exhausted, full of junk food, and with a grin still plastered on my face.....ahhh life is so good!

And to think the big party isn't until Saturday.

Once, Twice, 3 Times a lady!

That's right I'm 3 today! Let the celebration begin.

Weekend of Firsts

We all had a good weekend here. The first of the corn was harvested on Friday. YAY!!!

I had my first dentist appointment that day too. They were going to just look in my mouth, but I was so good that they went ahead and did a full cleaning. When I first got in the chair I opened my mouth just like a lion and stayed that way the whole time. Mom found this quite funny, but I was all business.

Our kittens came out of the barn for the first time. It has been really fun to visit them and watch them try to get back in the barn once they get out. They have a hard time making the 4 inch step up to get back in. Daddy takes me to visit them every day. Am I a lucky little girl or what?

On Sunday I went to Sunday school for the first time! I was not at all afraid to stay there, and my teacher said I was good during class. We played with toys first, then sang songs, had a Bible lesson, and made a craft. I like my teacher, Mrs. Hadden, and am looking forward to going back next week.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend too.

All Girl Road Trip

This weekend Mom and I went on our annual Missouri trip with Grandma Pam, Aunt Amy, and Jaycie. This year we ventured all the way down to Branson. We traveled most of Friday, then when we got there we went to a really big Christmas store. On Saturday we went to Silver Dollar City. It was all decorated beautifully for fall. There, we saw a lot of folk crafts and rode a train and some rides. I liked the rides the best. That evening we went to an AWESOME musical called Noah. The set wrapped nearly 1/2 way around the auditorium and there were some real animals in the ark and a lot of robotic ones that looked real. It was over 2 hours long, but I was so good and sat quietly the whole time! On Sunday we started home. We stopped at Osage Beach for lunch and an outlet shopping blitz. I was such a big girl in the car. I just sat quietly, and if it hadn't been for my singing along with the Miley Cyrus CD we listened to half a dozen times, Mom says she wouldn't have even known I was back there. What a fun time!

ABBA: Dancing Queen

After many long months the wait is over. Today I finally got to go to dance class. I have been wanting to go since I saw my first recital in May. I am taking tap and gymnastics at the same place my mom went when she was a litlle girl, and I think she was as excited as I was. I did very well in my tap class, but got a little bit wild in the gym and had a hard time staying with my group. There are lots of little girls in my class from ages 3-5. I probably liked the trampoline and the "pit" the best. The pit is a big hole filled with squishy foam blocks that you jump into. I wasn't in any hury to leave when class was over, and I told mom that I want to go back again next week. Mom watched this week, but next week I am on my own. Lookout Ginger Rogers there's a new kid in town!

More Technical Difficulties

Once again, Mom's computer had been misbehaving, but we think it is healthy again now. So, here's what's been happening in my life:

-Mommy and I are enjoying the last few weeks of summer, and taking advantage of Grandma's pool a lot.
-I got a pet goldfish last Sunday. I had been asking for one for a long time, so this was a big deal. I named her Abby Lou Who (that's what Aunt Nancy calls me). Last night when I went to feed her, Abby Lou Who was just laying on the rocks, and this morning she was floating on top of the water. Weird thing for a fish to do, huh? Daddy said she was really sleepy.

-Jake and I have started our pretend school where we stay inside for a little while in the mornings and learn things like letters and numbers and do craft projects. We were both really happy to start "school" again.

-I spent the night at Kira and Geordan's with Mom on Friday. We watched Kira perform a dance at half time of a football game. She did great! The next day we played for hours at Chuck E. Cheese's. How lucky are we?!

Lots of people have been asking when Daddy will be in the field, and it doesn't look like it will be too soon. Things have just been so wet this year that the corn and beans are still pretty green. Mom and I have a lot of things planned for September, so keep checking in on me, and I will try to update more frequently.
