Back from FL

Well, Florida was wonderful! We just had fun the whole time we were there and had some very nice beach weather. I have a lot of stories to tell so when you see me next be sure to ask me about the dolphins, the giraffe, or the shells on the beach. Some of the highlights of the trip:

  • The beach (of course) was great. The sand was white and sugary. Each time a wave came in, it would leave handfuls of seashells. Being on the Gulf side, the water was green and shallow for a good way out.

  • I loved the pool at the resort and talked to lots of other kids from all over the world when I went swimming in it everyday.

  • We went on a "safari" at Busch Gardens. We were close enough to touch a lot of animals, and fed Dolly the girrafe lettuce. We also saw zebras, antelope, rhinos, etc. I also had my face painted like a tiger.

  • From the Florida Aquarium we went on an Eco-Tour of Tampa Bay where we spotted several wild dolphins. They came pretty close to our boat and were very playful.

  • I really liked flying. On the way there I slept the last half of the flight. I enjoyed looking out at the clouds on the way home and reading my magazines.

There is plenty more to tell, and I am sure those of you who see me in person will hear all about it. On our last day when mom said we were packing up to go home I told her "No, I'll just stay here at the beach." She said "That's my girl" whatever that means.

Fun in the Sun

I have been having so much fun these past few weeks that I just haven't hade much time to update, so........here is what has been going on.
-Swimming lessons finished up, and I did a great job! By the end of the lessons I was jumping really high off the side, paddling my arms like a pro, and making some serious splashes with my big kicks. I also perfected my bubble blowing and went under a few times. I am excited to be in the big kid class without Mom next year.
-I am also in my last week of my summer reading program. I have enjoyed story time every week, especially the week that the theme was cookies! We even took Geordan with us this week where the theme was animal tracking. We made a fun art project with animal track stamps.
-The weekend of the 4th I went to the parade in Jacksonville where I made a haul in candy. We also went to a cookout at my Great Aunt Becky and Uncle Sonny's where I saw a lot of my extended family. I liked running around with all of the kids that were there and hanging out with Aunt Sissy and Uncle George. I couldn't hold out for the fireworks ( I was exhausted), but I did see some on TV. Maybe next year I'll make it until the real thing.
-My cousins Kira and Geordan have been spending the week at our house. We have been so busy with picnics, playgrounds, and the pool. They want to swim at Grandma Pam's everyday. We have also had fun at Aunt Nancy's who you see in the picture with the three of us. Mom and Dad have let me stay up late the past few nights with them which has been really fun. We all fight over who gets to play with Daddy when he gets home. They pretty much act like he is a rock star. We still have lots to do before they go back.
-And last but definately not least, we leave for vacation on Tuesday. I am sure we will have gobs of pictures to share. I talk about going to the beach and on the airplane, but most of all I am excited about the elevator at the hotel. It's not a special elevator, I just like elevators in general.
I'll try to update again before we go, and certainly will fill you in soon after we get back.
